Sretsis

Published March 21, 2012 by satangpie

“We don’t believe in locking up clothes only for special occasions. We want girls to experience the regular joy of dressing up” this is what they believe. The name of Sretsis is from sisters’ spelled backward,

The company, which includes sisters Pim, Kly and Matina Sukhahuta designing, marketing and fashioning jewelry.

Pim and her sisters Kly and Matina work side by side to create a line that speaks to a woman’s sense of femininity and style. Sretsis’ Pimdao Sukhahuta is exactly the kind of person you would expect to be behind the whimsical line.

Pim spoke about her SS2011 collection inspired by her stay in Jaipur, India where she endeavored to learn as much about the culture as possible. Her vast knowledge of world cultures including the indie scene in Bangkok, left us greatly impressed.

Your biography tells us you had to make an overnight decision as to whether or not to start your line. Could tell us a bit more about that story?

PIMDAO: The summer before my senior year at Parsons School of Design, I was given an opportunity by mother. She knew someone that had space in one of the high-end shopping centers in Bangkok. She gave me two nights to come up with the concept, name, everything. I didn’t think much about it and just jumped into it. My sisters and I have always been very close and at the time we were sharing an apartment together in New York City. They inspired me. I just doodled around, made the logo with the three of us. I wanted to have something that would have some meaning, something classic with a twist and a sense of humor.

Your line is gaining huge success globally. Would you ever consider doing a collaboration for your younger fans? Much like Lanvin x H&M.

Yes, I would love to because that is the way to take on the world right now. I wouldn’t consider myself to be as widely famous as Lanvin at the moment. But you know, if the chance comes up that would be nice. Collaborating is great because you get a designer’s idea and you get all the people that have access to mass production and are able to provide it to a wider public. To be able to collaborate with a company that is an expert on something would be great. We have done collaborations in the past with the Eyewear line Thierry Lasry and it was pretty well received. We want to continue with that in the future.

Is there a particular designer or store that you would like to collaborate with?

Yes, for now we are very excited about the market in Japanese market. Isetan is one of the biggest and nicest shopping malls in Tokyo. We have discussed doing a limited edition line just for them. They are big into licensing for such things as eyewear or makeup. So that is something that we would like to do in the future.

Do you have a designer that you look up to? What 3 designers are you loving most right now and why?

I have always liked the classics. Chanel, of course. She is one of the classics and a true rebel that revolutionized fashion and the way women dress. She is an inspiration and someone to really look up to. Also I love the story of Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell. He’s a famous designer from the 70s and as a couple they worked together. Ossie did all the designing and Celia did all the printmaking. I love it when a line comes from a relationship like that. They have such strong energy and they work well together. I truly admire their work and they’re such an inspiration for me. I also love vintage and the designs of the 70s.

The idea that expensive, designer fashions are the most desirable seems so last-millennium. Do you agree with this statement? Why?

I do and I don’t. I believe that the value of something is not because of the brand or the label sewn in. It’s more about how something is designed and how something is made. It’s about quality and about something that could become an iconic piece of clothing, something that could become part of history. To me it really doesn’t matter about whether or not it is a designer label, it’s about appreciation for me.

Where do you hope your line will be in the next five to ten years?

From what I was saying earlier, we’ve broken through the market in North America and Australia. I feel right now my biggest opportunity is in Tokyo. I would like to continue to with the Japanese market and maybe do a collaboration with them. We want to keep our existing customers happy right now. We’re not ready to think too big yet.

Tom Ford is an american  fashion designer and a film director , he became famous because he was a head designer of gucci and YSL in 1994-2004 (also his own label Tom Ford)

Tom Ford believe that women should be sexy and this is also the concept that lead house of gucci and YSL. Tom Ford style is about glamour, classic, elegance and sexy, he use a lot of sex appear of women and also men on advertising and his own work, this is also make his work under the spot light.

personally, i like Tom Ford men’s wear very much because of the design and also the quality, as you can see all the shirt and suit are well made with a good shape and good material.

Tom Ford style mostly for me is classic and i would love to wear it to a anywhere because it is look polite and smart.

One thing that i can sense from Tom Ford is Tom Ford is more like a american classic brand but still has the atmosphere of a culture in the past, maybe because of the classic look of men that me it more like a american gentlemen during 1920.

he also made a sunglasses, look very classy and expensive. his design is a little bit vintage but still look great.

Maybe he use sex because most of the people are really interested in it, and the more society try to provide sex from media or people the more people interested in.

i love his perfume and the design of all the bottle, because i’ve never seen anything like this before, it gave me a touch of real perfume like it the past men grooming, while other brand is trying to develop and moving forward to a future Tom Ford is using what people forget in the past.

Cherilyn Sarkisian was born in California on May 20th, 1946. She was 17 when she first met Salvatore “Sonny” Bono, a songwriter and protégé of producer Phil Spector. Bono
brought her to Spector, who used her as a backup singer and produced one single by her, a novelty Beatle-tribute record called “Ringo I Love You,” issued under the name Bonnie
Jo Mason.
It disappeared without a trace, but the couple were undaunted — they emerged as a duo, initially called Caesar and Cleo, later that year, and cut “The Letter,” “Do You Wanna Dance” and “Love Is Strange. in 1964, Cher was signed to Liberty Records’ Imperial imprint, and Bono came along as producer.

The marriage split at the seams in 1974 and they publicly announced their separation. Eventually they both tried to launch their own solo variety shows, but both failed to even come close to their success as a duo. Audiences weren’t interested in Cher without Sonny.
